WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

  • Day light savings - No appointment necessary whilst we are open (unless raining)

  • Winter - Appointments are necessary. Book at least 1 hour in advance where possible.

  • For appointments outside of our open hours you can book here.

  • Please call Mrs. Macdonald 021 930 950 to check availability if wanting a visit outside of our open hours, or if you have made an online booking for the same day, or if you haven't had a reply from a text or Facebook message .

  • Daily Hazards are on the whiteboard at the gate.

  • We DO NOT have Eftpos. We we do accept online bookings, cash or internet banking.

  • If no children are accompanying you, then child prices apply to adults.

  • Portaloo available around the back beside the sleepout. Please respectfully do not put anything down other that P & P and toilet paper. Let us know if it needs attention and do not look down!

  • Respect is expected for the animals, our guides and our park please.

  • This is also our home, please only visit during open hours, open days or with booked appointments so we can be prepared for you and have our dogs away.

  • Parking is limited; please park on the grass verge on the side of our driveway, or down the lane towards the river.

  • For groups, schools, birthdays we open our horse arena for parking, there will be a sign of where to park.

  • Please take any rubbish you brought in with you.

  • Do not bring dogs or other pets.

  • Please ding the bell or phone on arrival if you do not see someone.

  • Caregivers are responsible for the supervision of children at all times.

  • Any damage done by you or your group should be paid for.

  • Fences on the horses side of the driveway are electric. 

  • Please do not feed the horses, do not let your children feed the horses, unless very experienced.

  • Photos are allowed within the farm park as long they as used for personal use and not to be used against the farm park in any way.

  • If there are any incidents or concerns please be sure to tell us so we can keep everyone safe and mitigate any hazards.

Farm Shop Counter

FARM PARK SHOP 

Mrs. Macdonald has a small farm shop counter where visitors pay to enter the park.  You can purchase some items here.

 

PELLETS
Handfeed the animals around the farm with our animal pellets. The bags are compostable and our tubs and buckets are recyclable, so please do return to the shop counter so we can compost or reuse, to help save the planet.

EGGS
You can collect your own eggs around the farm park, or buy pre-packaged cartons or bring your own container.

FARMDOO

We have our popular mixed manure compost. Find it at our gate available in 15kg bags at the gate Mixed Doo $6 (screened and aged)  or bagged Horse Doo $2. Come up and pay at the shop if it is open or use our honesty box. Free to collect your own horse manure by appt.​

Farm Park Map

Entry to the Farm Park

Wander through in your own time, get up close with a variety of farm animals, including ponies, goats, pigs, chickens, alpacas, and more.

 

Take your time follow the numbers or follow the children's lead. You will be given a sheet with all the animals and their details, pat the animals over the fence, talk about their breed, colour, what noises they make and unique characteristics.

 

We have addon experiences and options to pururase with your booking or at the Farm Park Shop.

Add-On's

Guided tours are available for families, caregivers, grandparents, groups of friends, coffee mums anyone who would like to have a more interactive visit.

 

Your guide will meet you on arrival and lead you on a tour of the Farm Park. Your guide will introduce the animals names, breeds and interesting facts about the different animals and their personalities. You can ask questions on anything you would like to know about them.

With the guided tour, visitors can interact, gently hold and pat the animals. A great opportunity for both kids and adults to have contact with the animals in a safe managed environment.

FEED TIME
daily 930am & 430pm

Visitors can participate in our scheduled feeding times, where they can help feed the animals under the supervision of staff members.

This hands-on activity allows visitors to learn about the dietary needs of each animal and the importance of a balanced diet for their well-being. 

Bring along some veges, fruit, flowers or fresh cut grass for the animals, its neat to see them enjoy food you foraged especially for them.

EDUCATIONAL VISIT

Looking for a safe and memorable animal experience for your group?

Experience the joy of learning through play while enjoying the chance to see, pat, feed and hold our friendly farm animals at Mrs. Macdonald’s Farm Park.

Keep your bags and belongings safe in your designated hub, which includes a gazebo, seating, chairs (for littlies) and a picnic mat. This lovely, shaded area is perfect for your group to have a kai after interacting with all the animals. Handwashing facilities are available.

 

Educational Group visits are FREE for teachers, parents, caregivers, or staff. 

 

Portaloo and hand basin available.
Wheelchair accessible toilet is available
 

All options include PELLETS to feed the animals, simple WORKSHEETS and Q & A.

PONY RIDES

Experience a real pony ride ! we have collaborated with our friend Sheree to offer year round pony rides for our customers.
 

Located just a few kms from here you can head there straight after your farm park visit.

We issue a voucher just hand over to the team, and they will arrange a helmet and a big or little horse to suit your riders. No worries if its raining they have a little covered arena.
